A Fun Find

March 7, 2025 By Roni Feinstein

Having been asked by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation to share the tape of an interview I conducted with John Cage back in 1984, I started going through some of my files and came upon these photographs. They were taken by photographer Jeanne D. Trudeau at the opening of the exhibition, Robert Rauschenberg: Silkscreen Paintings 1962-64, which I curated for the Whitney Museum of American Art (then located in the Marcel Breuer building on Madison Avenue and 75th Street, New York). I believe the date of the opening was December 5, 1990. The exhibition remained on view through March 17, 1991. The show was accompanied by a catalogue I authored, with an introductory essay by Calvin Tomkins.
